A Life Transformed By God, Part 4: “I Need to Let More People Know How Good It Is to Believe God”

There was an old pastor from Hong Kong who told me I needed to go to seminary. He shared his story with me, of how he was willing to give up his salary to go to seminary and become a preacher. He encouraged me as well. I was still fearful, I thought I needed to raise my family and make money. If I went to seminary, who’s going to give me money?

A Life Transformed By God, Part 3: “How Do You Believe?”

People would talk about, “Oh, humans are sinners.” But they never talked about what a sinner actually is. Before, I thought, “I’m a pretty good person.” And then all of a sudden, I knew I was no good. I had a bad habit, and I knew that was no good. All of a sudden I thought, “Oh! I understand!” At the same time I thought, “This is what I need.”

Interview with a Qingdao Pastor: “Gospel Growth is an Inevitable Trend.”

“When we are renewed by the gospel, then the whole church — from our ministry culture to our ministry direction — will become united, and things will be easier. I cannot do it all by myself. I had sought my own happiness by living the way I lived, but I was not happy, and I had no peace.

People Seeking the Truth, Part 3: “If Jesus Could Change My Life, I Wanted to Follow Him”

After one year, I slowly found my life was changed. I didn’t feel the need to smoke, or have a desire to get drunk. When I felt lonely or stressed, I could go to God. At about this time, I started sharing my faith with other students and faculty. Some people believed, and we formed a Bible study.

People Seeking the Truth, Part 2: “That Incident Totally Wiped Out What I Hoped For”

After a couple of months things slowed down. When the army moved out, people went back to normal. But I could still sense that the Beijing residents, the local people, were pressuring themselves to hide their anger and mistrust. That night some local people died, too. After [leaving] work, they had accidentally been alongside Tiananmen Square and were shot. Many people lost their lives, not only the students. It is a very sad story.
